Leave a Comment The latest collection from Givenchy Spring 2010 designed by Riccardo Tisci who was inspired him by the youth of Morocco, Tunisia and designing with Michael Jackson in mind. Love it or hate it!
The collection started with a clean slate of white and black monochromatic suits and the show progressed into an urban-inspired wear in the form of baggy tapered shorts and simple oversize tops.
During the past seasons, Tisci had moved from modesty to boldness, bringing forth loud prints, vibrant red and lame gold.
It is an eye-catching show but visually clash with no logic.
Both solids and red flannelette were embellished to the point of no return made solid pieces like the tuxedo coats, cummerbund or mesh tank into relief. Tisci excels on the solid front but in regards to prints and embellishments maybe he needs a grounding in reality.

Leave a Comment I am once again an avid fan of the iconic Gucci label with their Gucci handbags, shoes, clothing collection for spring/summer 2010. If Frida Gianini swear not to do again the awful hippie, disco, or flowery designs from her previous collections and focus more of the present clean glam style, definitely Gucci could recapture it’s once excellent reputation.
When Giannini stepped in, there were many season’s of hideous designs and lot of fans like myself, thought they were becoming a horrible luxury accessory ever.
However this collection is truly the work of a genius. The show started with all white and it slowly turned into gray and totally became black. The overlying theme of the label’s presentation was sex appeal and slavery and this was being visible to clothing lines and traces in the shoe and handbag collections.
The clutch bags presented were neat and clean in a single color. Smaller shoulder bags are also showcased during the show featuring a bamboo handle and small detail. This bag is something that I really love for the upcoming spring/summer handbags. They also have a metal chain and leather shoulder strap. The large totes are embellished with white Guccisima leather in a harness detail on the front and have double whip leather straps. This type of bag really capture the essence of Gucci Collection for the spring /summer 2010.

The Dior dress designed by John Galliano was made famous when Carrie wore it in Sex and the City. Now John Galliano expanded his accessories in 100 styles of bags, small leather goods, belts, luggage and travel bags. This was licensed to Plus IT for design, production and distribution under a five-year contract.
The collection will include the Dior creative director’s design signatures on prints, appliqués and embroideries as well as on messenger, doctor, and hobo bags. Made from faux oilskin leathers, washed nylon, distresses calf skin and kilim-printed corduroy.
The collection has also a romantic mood featuring the Galliano logo in blush pint with gemstone embroideries, lacework, heart-shaped metal charms, keys and the letter G.

Leave a Comment The house of Fendi offered variety styles for their 2010 Spring/Summer handbag collection with two opposing themes – vintage and futuristic.
The designer, Karl Lagerfeld used lots of obscure, lingerie influenced fabric to cover several handbags, but the end results are bit sloppy and worn.
Some Fendi handbags are made of wooden handles and has an unusual feature of a snap on fabric cover, in various form of materials from linen with a flower-embroidered edge to needlepoint.
Other wooden handled handbags has a strip of transparent Perspex, giving a futuristic element that looks inappropriate for a vintage style bag.
Leather and snakeskin materials embroidered with some decorative details are being used for Peek a Boo handbag.
Most perplexing were the transparent Perspex clutches and they modeled empty but what does it look like if it has something inside on it? Of course it would ruin their beauty to carry anything in them. We use bags to carry things, right?
I saw one potential bag from the collection and it was a studded Perspex clutch. The studs gave enough cover so you could actually tote the bag with no sloppy-look at all but there’s a huge empty space with no studs where your hand should go to carry the bag.
Overall, I found the effort of the designer creating extraordinary handbags for the chic and classy women with a vintage and futuristic approach towards fashion.

It was made of real python skins in beautiful dusty pink and set against the black leather bow. The python scales are perfectly size and skillfully uniform.
The crystal bow is just the right amount of accessory to keep this sophisticated yet super chic handbag. I like that this bag best suitable for any ages. I could see a gorgeous older woman toting around with a silk or a young chic into the club.
