Thannhauser Collection

The Thannhauser Collection was founded by Justin K. Thannhauser, the son of art dealer Heinrich Thannhauser, founded the Moderne Galerie in Munich in 1909.

Thannhauser worked with his father in the booming gallery and helped to build impressive and versatile exhibits such as French Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, the Italian Futurists, and the contemporary German artists. The Moderne Galerie presented the premier exhibitions of the New Artists’ Association of Munich (1901) and The Blue Rider (1911), both are Vasily Kandinsky.

The Moderne Galerie also featured the first major Pablo Picasso retrospective in 1913 thus, beginning the close relationship between Justin K. Thannhauser and Picasso that lasted until the artist’s death in 1973.

Thannhauser was really an ambitious businessman. He opened a second gallery during 1919 in Lucerne with his cousin, Siegfried Rosengart (1894–1985). The highly successful galleries of Thannhauser branches Munich and Lucerne and later in Berlin with a major special exhibition to this thriving art center.

The Thannhauser’s commitment to promoting artistic progress paralleled the vision of Solomon R. Guggenheim (1861–1949). In appreciation of this shared spirit and in the memory of his first wife and two sons, Thannhauser gave a significant portion of his art collection, including over 30 works by Picasso, to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in 1963. From 1965 until Thannhauser’s death in 1976 as his collection formally entered the Guggenheim’s holdings, the Thannhauser Collection was on long-term loan to the museum. A bequest of 10 additional works received after Hilde Thannhauser’s death in 1991 enhanced the legacy of this family of important art dealers.

This presentation was organized by Tracey Bashkoff.

Dolce & Gabbana Handbag in Miss Sicily Snakeskin

dolce-gabbana-miss-sicily-snakeskin-handbag

Oh its D&G aka Dolce & Gabbana! I was really amazed when I saw this Miss Sicily Snakeskin brought about by Dolce & Gabbana handbags collection this season. My first impression when I looked at this stuff was that it didn’t look anything like Dolce & Gabbana stuff.

Other fashion labels got a compliment of a ruffly garbage handbags or been in various color of lame but this bag is totally different as what we see here.

The Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily Snakeskin Handbag is the exact opposite of a ruffly anything. Its lines are so rigid that shows that this bag was well-crafted. I’m pretty sure that it can withstand any incremental weather condition and can last for a long long time. It is indeed, TIMELESS!!!

Go ahead, try and think of something snakeskin. This was perfectly matched in any outfit you have, whether you dressed up with jeans or a white button-down. This is quite nice and to tell you, snakeskin is my favorite neutral material of all time.

They are textured with tons of tiny scales that really deserve some time spent with your great fashion carrier. Seeing this makes me really wish that Hermes would consider expanding their snakeskin offerings in the future.

Try to consider other Dolce & Gabbana handbags at your online store.
