The Dior dress designed by John Galliano was made famous when Carrie wore it in Sex and the City. Now John Galliano expanded his accessories in 100 styles of bags, small leather goods, belts, luggage and travel bags. This was licensed to Plus IT for design, production and distribution under a five-year contract.
The collection will include the Dior creative director’s design signatures on prints, appliqués and embroideries as well as on messenger, doctor, and hobo bags. Made from faux oilskin leathers, washed nylon, distresses calf skin and kilim-printed corduroy.
The collection has also a romantic mood featuring the Galliano logo in blush pint with gemstone embroideries, lacework, heart-shaped metal charms, keys and the letter G.

When Carrie Bradshaw, the shoe-loving main character of the Sex And The City TV series, took a wrong turn after lunch in SoHo she found herself on one of New York’s grungier side streets and face-to-face with a mugger. “Please sir,” she pleaded. “You can take my Fendi baguette, you can take my ring and my watch, but don’t take my Blahniks.”
Unfortunately, the mugger took off her favorite pair of strappy Manolo’s.
The TV series plays a very important role in Manolo’s life. He has become one of the renowned designers whose name is synonymous with their product. The name itself – Manolo – is now used as a label to describe very expensive and very beautiful shoes. Even though some people never have a chance to see the actual pair of Manolo Blahniks.
I really really appreciate the works of Manolo. His remarkable achievement given that Blahnik is solely responsible for the design and prototype of every shoe that bears his name without any apprentices. Without any formal trainings in shoe-making, he has dominated the entire shoe business in London“I didn’t need it,” Blahnik told his friend Michael Roberts only half-jokingly in the late 1970s, “because I’ve got the best taste in the world.”

Beige color is very popular and trendy in this collection as well as military motives are still fresh.

Aside from the trench, the Burberry designer tried some extraordinary short dresses made of light airy fabrics. The materials has something never done by Burberry before, they were twisted, pleated and draped.
The colors are all subdued such as gray, mint green, lavender, rosy, yellowish, and other pastel colors. Nothing was bright or catchy color in this collection.
For me, the entire collection gives the impression of luxury, glamor and calmness.

Without any doubts, she is very talented. At the age of 4, GaGa started to play piano and at 13 she had written her first piano ballad. She played open mike nights at clubs at 14 and entered the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU at the age of 17. She signed some recording and writing contracts for other artists and recently, she was successfully released her debut album “The Fame” at 22.
Very impressive, isn’t it?
Aside from being a singer, performer, songwriter, she is also a “punky” designer. She is famous in designing her own outfits with unconventional style. Love it or hate it!, but obviously it’s Lady GaGa’s killer styles! She’s confident walking around London with her Minnie Mouse style hair bow, she can dress a neon green leotard to go get some snack, she can wear Kermit The Frog dress, she’s really into PVC pants and large trade-mark vantage sun glasses.
Lady GaGa has made a complete moppet of herself by wearing her wackiest outfits ever.
She’s definitely ORIGINAL!
She’s totally real in everything she does and not afraid to show up her personality publicly. She’s totally different but she keeps us rocking and vibrating our soul. Dress to impressed, hah!

Leave a Comment The house of Gucci showcased its Spring 2010 menswear through a runway show last June 21 with a strong inspiration to the work of Latin American architect, Oscar Niemeyer.

White as the key opening color of this spring 2010 was inspired by Niemeyer who designed a certain number of his buildings in white. Niemeyer’s lifeworks are generally curvilinear and based on reflecting and imitating the abundance and altered fauna of his native Brazil. In contrast to the latest clothing lines of Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini were largely linear and straight.
The collections are looked great in an excellent series of evening looks. Designed with tapered pants cut off above the ankle and fine two-button suits made in cool jacquards and silks in wonderful hues of indigo and burnt rose.
The Gucci menswear, besides of its less Brazilian style had even little to do with modern men’s fashion. Some of them looked too familiar from Giannini’s most recent collections for the brand and their New Wave rocket attitude.
The designer also showcased a series of surfer looks made of modern nylons and micro fibers, but looks seem someone who had never actually surfed designed them.
“High tech kite surfer,” said Gianinni, who confessed to not having really tried the sport. “My arms are too weak,” she laughed. (yahoo fashion news)
Oscar Niemeyer never recognized his ideas in this Gucci collection even his buildings tapped directly into his immediate and exotic environment for inspiration.

Leave a Comment The Milan runways are crowded with fashionistas who wants to witness the incredible Italian menswear Spring 2010 collections. They are trotting rippling through the season’s greatest designer made ensembles. Few of them made the impression of travel into more wishful thinker than the house of Versace. Its latest collection for men was a modern take on the French Foreign Legion.

The label’s design director, Alexander Plohkov through the effort of Donatella Versace made some tailoring “codes’ like sleek double breasted jackets in white linen perverted the mood by creating beautiful elongated djellabas with hazy desert mirage prints.
The Saharan theme creates a lively setting in stylish beige leather tops and bags with patchwork covered the show. A wide array of colors such as palette of khaki, white and sand is being used on silk muslin and crumpled leather fabrics.
The overall show made a genial roving nonchalance that recalled military braiding through its smart details like cavalry tassel belts and wristbands or even on faille collars on tuxedos.

Leave a Comment The designer, Miuccia Prada came up with some latest fashion for men in a Milan where the overriding feeling is of designers twist from their own previous body of work.
The spring 2010 menswear collection was covered and mixed with colors ranging from black to white made up of quotes from confusing movies to a great new stage set of wet shade walls.

You could imagine the show seems a somber summer moment because of quotes in giant two-foot-high script and the charcoal foam seating to the collection itself, largely made up of various takes on gray.
Miuccia once said: “A movie, in black and white,” floated around with trays of the ideal, color coordinated cocktail – a White Russian. Even though it was restricted in color, this is one of the most innovative shows ever in Milan collections.
The designer remake her own silhouette and tailoring in an excellent way exclusively for Milan. The newest innovative thing could be found on jackets where the jacket lapel is drawn out to the belly button and even double-breasted looks have just two buttons.
The Prada’s accessory department also had an excellent part to the whole transparency trend of this four-day Italian event. The house showcased perforated leather shoes and pork pie hats and see-through dusters in a mesh nylon material paired with sneakers and fishing gears.
